Atmosféru ulice Zámecká v centru Mikulova vytváří drobné měřítko okolních staveb, pohledy do střech historických domů a výhledy do nedalekého Rakouska, masa mikulovského zámku „za zády“ a v neposlední řadě historie židovské čtvrti, v jejímž srdci se nacházela.
Aspirací navrženého domu je využít potenciál unikátní lokality, zajistit dostatek soukromí v turisticky rušném okolí, v těsné vazbě na nejužší historické centrum Mikulova působit samozřejmě a nenápadně, přitom dostatečně jasně odlišit dům od okolní historické zástavby.

Navržený dům účelně využívá celý pozemek velkosti přibližně 240m2. Otevírá se do dvora intimní velikosti uzavřeného do zídek z místního vápence a cihel. S prostorem dvora je přímo propojen obývací pokoj a „ateliér“, díky vnějšímu schodišti a velkorysé terase pak ložnice.
Pro vnitřní prostor domu je určující využití různých výškových úrovní ulice a dvora, propojování vnitřních prostor, otevření do krovu v patře.

Atmosféra solidního zděného domu a k němu připojeného lehkého dřevěného „ateliéru“ je vytvářena rozdílným materiálovým a konstrukčním řešením – dům je zděnou stavbou opatřenou omítkou, ateliér z převážné části dřevostavbou s fasádou z modřínových prken.

Dům je vystavěn z „klasických“ materiálů, od materiálově i formálně obdobných okolních historických staveb jej odlišuje provedení detailů. Formu objektu zjednodušují skryté žlaby, keramické střešní tašky jsou obdobné, jako v okolí běžně použité bobrovky, jen s rovnou hranou. Okna jsou bezrámová nebo dřevěná s jednoduchými profily, umístěná v různých hloubkách okenních otvorů.

Prostor dvora je z velké části zpevněný cihelnou terasou a mlatem, okolo zídek jsou vysázeny růže a bylinky.

The unique atmosphere of Zámecká street in the centre of Mikulov is created by its small sized buildings, views of the rooftops of historic houses and the wide horizon that opens to show the Austrian landscape in addition to the dominating mass of Mikulov chateau behind one’s back and, last but not least, by the history of the Jewish Quarter in the centre of which the street is located. The explicit intent of the architect manifested itself in his effortsto preserve privacy in the busy touristic surroundingswhile respectingthe historic character of Mikulov centre and making an inconspicuous but clear distinction between the house and the surrounding historic buildings at the same time.

As designed, the house purposefully uses the whole surface of the plot of approximately 240sqm size. It opens itself into an intimate courtyard containedin low wallsmade of local limestone and bricks. The living room and the "atelier" are connected to both the courtyardand an external staircase rising to a generously proportioned terrace and a bedroom situated onthe 2ndfloor.
The interior of the house advantageously utilizes the height difference in the levels of the street and the courtyard, as well as the interconnection ofvarious interior areasand therooms on the 2nd floor with exposedroof truss framework.

The atmosphere of this solid brick house withatimberextension(“the atelier”) is built using the application of various materials and structural solutions - the house has a brick-built structure, while the atelier consists mostly in a timber structure with its façade made of larch board cladding.

The house is built using classic materials.Nevertheless, it differentiates itself from materially and formally similar historic buildingsin the execution of various details. The shape of the object is simplified by concealed gutters; ceramic roof tiles are similar to the normally used plain ones but they have a straight edge. The windows are frameless or wooden with simple profiles and are placed at various depths of window openings.

A larger part of the courtyard area is reinforced by a brick terrace and a threshing floor, roses and various herbs are planted around the low walls.
